As for positive things, it’s a fun place to work. It helps to be knowledgeable about the products and if you’re the type of person who isn’t afraid to pitch a sale, however, if your client base just doesn’t have the money, it’s going to be difficult making your sales average to get that bonus. Sure, there are bonuses but it really depends on which salon you’re working at. I don’t think the average person could live on the pay without having additional income. There are some benefits for part time employees if you do work over 30 hours a week (dental insurance, not sure about medical) but for the most part, it was just a job to get me through school and then a second job until I was financially stable enough in my career.
